Parsippany Democratic Campaign Kickoff

Parsippany Dems congratulate our Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill on her nomination to be our next Governor.

We’d also like to thank all of the volunteers who poured time and effort into this primary. Regardless of who you supported, your efforts are valued and have helped strengthen the party at a critical time.

We’re happy to report that this year’s primary saw record Democratic turnout in Parsippany. Although our local candidates were unopposed, they achieved a much larger turnout than we’ve seen in a local Parsippany election (including contested Democratic primaries). The ballots are still being counted, but all of our candidates received at least 3,000 affirmative votes. To our knowledge, the prior record was just over 2,200 votes. We’re also thrilled to report that Pulkit has more votes in the primary than Mayor Barberio; we didn’t achieve that in our last two mayoral victories (Mayor Luther in 2005 and Mayor Soriano in 2017). Our turnout continues to improve, and we will continue working with our fellow campaigns to ensure turnout stays high in the fall.

All of this to say that we’re very excited for this year’s election. It’s time to take town hall back. We hope you’ll join us as Pulkit, Matt, and Diya kick off their campaign to represent us on the dais.
